Two weeks before Desert Companion published its July piece on Henderson's restaurant scene, in which an Inspirada resident said the community "desperately need[s] restaurants," a shovel was already in the ground three-quarters of a mile from her front door. The groundbreaking happened February 26 at the corner of Via Centro and Via Inspirada. Most residents driving past the fenced dirt lot this summer have no idea what it is or when it opens. This post is for them.
The short version: the retail deficit that has defined day-to-day life in Inspirada since the first Toll Brothers keys were handed out is on a clock. And the clock is measured in months, not the 2029 horizon most people associate with the Station Casino site up the road.
Why the Complaint Is Structural, Not Perception
Inspirada currently has roughly 5,875 residents across more than 3,500 households, according to Nextdoor's neighborhood profile and Inspirada's own community materials. Inside the master plan's boundary, there is one full supermarket. It is an Albertsons. That is not a preference issue or a "we want more variety" issue. That is a walk-shed and drive-time issue baked into the original 2006 town center plan, which allocated the anchor grocery role to a single site and left the community waiting on the second one for the better part of two decades.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal's February coverage of the Centurion groundbreaking was blunt about it. Sansone Companies, the developer, publicly noted that retail services in Inspirada are "kind of lacking" and that there "appears to be only one supermarket" serving the area. When the developer building the fix is willing to say that on the record at a ribbon-cutting attended by Mayor Michelle Romero, the gap is not in dispute.
What Centurion Actually Is
Centurion sits on 24 acres at Via Centro and Via Inspirada. The site was acquired for approximately $15.1 million in June 2020, three months into the pandemic, and sat through the Henderson City Council's 2024 approval process before breaking ground this February. The important number in that table is 78,756. That is not a strip pad. It is enough square footage to seat a full-size grocery anchor plus a run of in-line tenants and one or two end-cap restaurants. Sprouts is confirmed. The remaining tenant mix has not been announced.
For orientation, Via Centro and Via Inspirada is the intersection most residents already use to enter and exit the community from the east side. The center is not a destination trip. It is a stop on the way home.
The Shops at Inspirada, Reconsidered
Before Centurion delivers, the closest thing Inspirada has to a village center is the existing Shops at Inspirada at Via Inspirada and Bicentennial Parkway, developed by Active Commercial on 5.41 acres with roughly 40,000 square feet of retail. The current tenant list residents actually use includes Jersey Mike's, Liquor World, and Marco's Pizza. Distill - Inspirada, further up Via Inspirada at 2293, has been the community's 24-hour sports bar and casual dining anchor since 2023.
None of that is a full grocery run. It is the reason a weeknight in Inspirada currently looks like a drive to Anthem, St. Rose, or the Stephanie Street corridor for anything past a sandwich. Desert Companion documented that corridor's churn in July: a Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar and a First Watch have taken over former restaurant boxes between Russell and Warm Springs, and a LongHorn Steakhouse moved into a former Applebee's space that itself relocated down the street. That is where Inspirada residents currently spend their restaurant dollars. Centurion is designed to keep more of them inside the community.

The Station Casino Is the Long Story
The other project residents ask about is Inspirada Station, the Red Rock Resorts property planned for Bicentennial Parkway and Via Inspirada. Approved in expanded form in early 2025, the resort is planned as a 900,000-square-foot, three-phase build with 600 hotel rooms, a 58,000-square-foot gaming floor, an 8,400-square-foot sportsbook, four restaurants, an eight-box food hall, four bars, a 12-lane bowling alley, and a six-box movie theater. KTNV reported the developer's stated timeline as a groundbreaking in early 2025 and completion around 2029.
If you moved into Inspirada in the last two years because of the casino renderings, the honest read is this: your kids will be older than you expect by the time the food hall opens. That is a four-year retail story. Centurion is a four-to-six-month retail story.
The distinction matters for anyone budgeting their patience. It also matters for anyone weighing the everyday texture of life in the community against the marketing materials.
How the Weekly Calendar Shifts Once Sprouts Opens
The practical question is what actually changes for a household already living inside the master plan when the Centurion retail phase delivers. A few honest predictions, held to what the research supports:
- The mid-week grocery run stops being an eight-to-twelve-minute drive to Albertsons or a longer haul to St. Rose. It becomes a stop at Via Centro.
- The Solista Pavilion Fresh52 Farmers' Market, which runs on select Saturdays and draws more than 35 vendors, keeps its role as the produce-and-specialty stop rather than competing with a full grocery.
- The Shops at Inspirada gets more foot traffic on the back of Sprouts cross-shopping, which typically improves the odds for the remaining vacant spaces there.
- Weeknight dining decisions widen. The current binary of Distill or a drive to Anthem gets a third option once Centurion's end-cap restaurant spaces sign tenants.
- The Inspirada Community Association's calendar events at Solista Park, Potenza Park, and Aventura Park become easier to pair with a normal errand run instead of a separate trip.
None of that requires the Station Casino. All of it is contingent on the retail phase hitting its year-end 2026 target, which is Sansone's stated goal and which the developer has said is already underway with site work.
What to Watch Between Now and Delivery
Three things are worth tracking if you live here and want a real read on timing rather than a rendering.
The first is tenant announcements. Sprouts is the anchor. The in-line signings will come in waves through the fall and will tell you what kind of center this is going to be. A run of quick-service restaurants and a coffee anchor implies one thing. A pharmacy, a dry cleaner, and a nail salon imply another. Both are useful. They serve different weekly rhythms.
The second is the apartment phase timing. Sansone has been clear that retail leads and residential follows. If the residential phase pulls forward, the daytime population inside the center goes up, which affects which restaurants take the remaining pads.
The third is the Bicentennial Parkway and Via Inspirada corner. That is the Station Casino site. The site has been fenced and planned for years, and the resort's own timeline runs to roughly 2029. Any visible vertical construction there before 2027 is a signal that the entertainment side of Inspirada's town center plan is finally converging with the everyday-retail side.
